About Us

The team at Waterston has over 60 years of combined media industry experience and a highly talented and professional creative, production and management team has evolved over time.

 

The core team includes award winning writer/producer/director, Norman Milburn, multi-talented producer Wendy Waterston and acclaimed cinematographer, Grant Waterston, servicing producers and broadcasters such as Discovery Channel, History Channel, Travel Channel, BBC, M-Net, SABC, Microsoft, Discovery Health/Vitality and more.

 

Grant Waterston has filmed on every continent in the world including the Arctic and Antarctic, and in “Circle of Ice” (Discovery / E-TV), he captured, the first-ever full circumnavigation of the Arctic on digital format, which won Best documentary at the NTVA Avanti Awards. He then went on to produce, shoot and edit a documentary on the pioneers who designed and built one of the most advanced research facilities on the Antarctic continent, titled “Antarctica: Ice World Pioneers” (TVF International / W.E.).

 

One of Grant’s career highlights was being contracted by Steven Spielberg to document the stories of Holocaust Survivors for Spielberg’s “Shoah Foundation”. Grant has also been director of photography on various International documentaries such as "Miracle Rising" (History Channel / Combined Artists), the story about the end of apartheid and transition to a new democracy that took place in South Africa and “Whispering the Wild” (Discovery Channel / Red Pepper Pictures), where the famous Monty Roberts and his protege tame the wild horses of Namibia.
